Experience the Music Made Here Concert Series – a vibrant musical journey with live performances by dynamic artists, set to captivate you with their talent and ignite you to dance in the newly revitalized Downtown Garland Square.

Join us on the first Friday of every month from January to November 2024 as we showcase headline artists who will take center stage. Bring your family to savor delectable bites from local restaurants, and let the kids participate in friendly challenges in the activity area.

This concert series is proudly sponsored by Jimmy Wallace Guitars and Veritex Community Bank, who are integral in bringing this cultural celebration to life. Additionally, Garland Cultural Arts presents thrilling concerts at the Plaza Theatre and Granville Arts Center throughout the year.

La Alianza Norteña is a Grammy-nominated group with roots in Chihuahua, Mexico, renowned for its dynamic Norteño Sax sound. Since their formation in 2007 as "Juventud Musical," the band has soared to success with hits like "Te Quiero a Morir" and albums like "Sangre Nueva" and "Nuestro Destino," showcasing their versatility in the norteño genre. Comprising Pablo Garcia, Gabriel Trevizo, Marco Solís, Mike Ríos, and Javier Dueñez, they captivate audiences with electrifying performances, solidifying their position as one of the industry's most promising and admired groups.

The Great Garland Restaurant Salsa Competition

Join us at the Music Made Here concert on May 3 for the ultimate salsa showdown! 🌶️

Sample and judge delicious salsa creations from restaurants competing in The Great Garland Restaurant Salsa Competition. 🔥

Public voting opens at 6:30 p.m. and closes at 8:30 pm. The public can cast their vote through the QR codes displayed on the participants' booth.

A winner will be announced on the main stage at the end of the concert. The salsa with the most votes will receive a $500 prize, a trophy, and bragging rights for a whole year as the Great Garland Restaurant Salsa Competition winner!

Sonny Landreth, a two-time Grammy nominee and slide guitar icon, continually pushes musical boundaries through collaborations with artists like Buddy Guy, John Hiatt, and Jake Shimabukuro. With a career spanning from theaters and arenas to post-New Orleans Jazz Fest jams, Landreth's innovative guitar techniques and expansive musical horizons have earned him acclaim from legends like Eric Clapton. Whether touring with Cindy Cashdollar or his own trio, Landreth's pursuit of the unexpected ensures memorable and fun performances for all.

Jimmy Wallace, hailing from Oak Cliff, emerged from a vibrant musical scene influenced by legends like Stevie Ray Vaughn and Rocky Athas. Starting his guitar journey at 13, he delved into the world of rare guitars, eventually forging a lasting relationship with Gibson that birthed the iconic Jimmy Wallace Les Paul. With a career spanning collaborations with luminaries like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johnny Winter, and more, Wallace remains deeply entrenched in music as a performer, proprietor of Jimmy Wallace Guitars in Garland, and owner of the renowned Dallas International Guitar Festival, the world's largest gathering of guitar enthusiasts.

Little Texas emerged onto the country music scene in the early '90s, capturing hearts with their self-penned hits and intricate harmonies, reminiscent of the Eagles. With over 7 million albums sold and a string of chart-topping singles, including three consecutive No. 1s, they earned the title of the "Hardest Working Band in Country Music." Celebrating over three decades in the industry, Little Texas continues to tour and captivate audiences with their timeless sound, led by original members Porter Howell, Dwayne O’Brien, Duane Propes, and Del Gray.

A professionally trained vocalist, Rachel Stacy is first and foremost a songwriter. Along with her infectious smile and electric onstage persona, her talents include playing guitar, violin, and piano. Rachel’s sound is a combination of country, blues and Southern rock.

With a career spanning over four decades, Gary P. Nunn has been at the forefront of Texas country music since the 1970s. As a pioneer of the progressive country movement in Austin, he's become an iconic figure in the genre.

Nunn, an independent music trailblazer, runs his own record label and publishing companies. From the timeless classic "London Homesick Blues" to his latest masterpiece, "Taking Texas to the Country," his music reflects love, sorrow, travel, and cultural influences, showcasing his remarkable versatility and emotional depth.

Featuring Guthrie Kennard

Guthrie Kennard's music journey began in Richmond, Virginia, at 14, playing with friend Joe Russell. Guthrie found inspiration among successful musicians in Atlanta, Georgia, solidifying his determination to pursue music. Settling in Texas in '71, he collaborated with renowned artists, leading to his successful solo career as a singer-songwriter with multiple chart-topping albums, including the recent 'RIVERSIDE,' produced by Ryan Tharp.

With a reverence for musical heritage and a commitment to authenticity, Ian's live shows become transformative spaces where joy, sorrow, and celebration intertwine, leaving a lasting impact on those who resonate with his heartfelt melodies.

Rob Miller, a versatile musician and seasoned professional based in Nashville, TN, is renowned as a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, and podcaster. Rob's diverse musical upbringing spans bluegrass, classic rock, blues, and beyond. With extensive experience performing across genres and touring internationally, he has collaborated with notable artists such as Jana Kramer, Love and Theft, and Charlie Worsham.
