Step into the rich and flavorful world of tamales, a dish that has transcended time, borders, and cultures with Texas Tamales: Wrapped in Tradition.

This captivating exhibit, hosted in partnership with The Mexican American Museum of Texas, explores the deep-rooted history, cultural significance, and culinary artistry of tamales, a staple in Latin American cuisine for thousands of years.

Whether you're a lifelong tamale lover or discovering them for the first time, this exhibit will leave you with a deeper appreciation for the flavors, history, and stories wrapped inside each tamal.

The exhibit will be on display at Garland City Hall from October 11, 2025 through January 3, 2026.

*Monday - Friday: 8 AM - 5 PM

**Saturday: 10 AM - 2 PM

Closed on Sundays

*Exhibit will be closed during City-observed holidays.
**On Saturday, Nov. 1, the exhibit will be open from 2 to 8 p.m. during Garland's Día de los Muertos Celebration.

The Art of Making Tamales will be led by Doris Quintanilla, owner of Tamaleria and Taqueria Nuevo Leon. Learn the labor-intensive steps that have been passed down for generations. You'll leave with a delicious tamale, a new skill and a recipe to make at home.

This event is FREE to attend, but space is limited, so be sure to register early!
