Step into the rich and flavorful world of tamales, a dish that has transcended time, borders, and cultures with Texas Tamales: Wrapped in Tradition.

This captivating exhibit, hosted in partnership with The Mexican American Museum of Texas, explores the deep-rooted history, cultural significance, and culinary artistry of tamales, a staple in Latin American cuisine for thousands of years.

Whether you're a lifelong tamale lover or discovering them for the first time, this exhibit will leave you with a deeper appreciation for the flavors, history, and stories wrapped inside each tamal.

The exhibit will be on display at Garland City Hall from October 11, 2025 through January 3, 2026.

The Art of Making Tamales will be led by Doris Quintanilla, owner of Tamaleria and Taqueria Nuevo Leon. Learn the labor-intensive steps that have been passed down for generations. You'll leave with a delicious tamale, a new skill and a recipe to make at home.
