Celebrate life, family, and tradition in Downtown Garland with Garland's Día de los Muertos Celebration, presented by Pilar Funeral Home, on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 2 to 8 p.m.!

This free community event, established in 2017 through a collaboration between the City of Garland, Garland ISD, and community leaders, brings people together for a day to honor past loved ones.

Throughout the day, enjoy live performances, admire beautifully decorated altar displays, take part in games and activities, browse handcrafted goods from local artisans at El Mercado, and savor delicious food from a variety of food trucks.

Guests can also pick up a commemorative Garland Día de los Muertos T-shirt, available for purchase while supplies last.

Live Music: Los Komberz

Close out Garland’s Día de los Muertos with a high-energy performance by Los Komberz. The Dallas-area band will bring its lively cumbia sound to Downtown Garland, creating a dance-ready finale to a day honoring life, family, and tradition.

Celebrate our cultura! Enter Garland’s 2026 Día de los Muertos Catrín/Catrina Contest by completing the entry form.

CALL FOR ARTISTS

Join in celebrating Hispanic culture by participating in Garland Cultural Arts Dia de los Muertos juried art exhibit. All submitted entries must represent the unique style and imagery of Dia de los Muertos, emanating the excitement and spirit of Hispanic traditions.

This show featuring 2D art will be displayed at the Granville Arts Center during the Dia de los Muertos event.

Deadline to submit work is Sept. 25, 2026.

The City of Garland, Texas is seeking artisans for its Dia de Los Muertos Celebration, which will be held Saturday, Oct. 24, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Granville Arts Center (300 N. Fifth Street) and throughout Downtown Garland. The expanded celebration will feature music, entertainment, food trucks, and a children's area.
