The Great Garland Restaurant Salsa Competition

Thank you for your interest in participating in the City of Garland's Great Garland Restaurant Salsa Competition. This event will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024, at the Downtown Garland Square during the Music Made Here Concert. Public voting opens at 6:30 p.m. and closes at 8:30 p.m. A winner will be announced on the main stage after the concert. The salsa with the most votes will receive a $500 prize, a trophy, and bragging rights for a whole year as the Great Garland Restaurant Salsa Competition winner!

A maximum of 10 restaurants will be accepted into the contest. One entry per restaurant. No entries will be accepted on contest day.

All salsa contestants must submit a Temporary Food Permit Application to the Special Events department (specialevents@garlandtx.gov) with their Registration form. Participants will receive confirmation and further instructions before the May 3 event.

Each restaurant must supply its own 2 oz. ramekins and/or chips for attendees to be able to do the tasting, table, chairs, tablecloths, and any signage. Contestants can begin booth setup at 4:00 p.m. and should be ready by 6:00 p.m.

The deadline to submit your application is Friday, April 19, 2024. DEADLINE EXTENDED: Submit your application by Friday, April 26, 2024.
