We proudly celebrate our 8th year of Día de los Muertos in Garland!

This tradition began in 2017 as a collaboration between the City of Garland, Garland ISD, and community leaders, and continues today with the additional partnership and support of International Leadership of Texas.

QUIMIKOZ DEL SON, a Cumbia band based out of Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. Cumbia is a blend of musical cultures, originating in South America.

Colombia, to be exact. Quimikoz = chemists. Del = of the. Son = the soul, the heartbeat of the rhythm. Of African Cuban influence & very popular in Mexican American culture, and now all diversities of cultures from around the globe dance and celebrate cumbia! QUIMIKOZ creates a mixture of accordion sounds, heavy bass tones, cumbia beats, reggae rhythms, hip-hop layers, and a brass ensemble that accentuates the versatile sound of the barrio. With all this vibrant energy, we can all definitely get to “A BAILAR LA CUMBIA!!”…

Contribute to the community altar at the Granville Arts Center by bringing a copy of a photo of a loved one. No photos larger than 4x6 inches. The community and student Altars and art will be displayed from Oct. 24 to Nov. 9.

Pick up exclusive Día Garland merchandise at the Visitor Center, 501 W. State St., and take home a colorful keepsake to remember this year’s celebration.

Family Activities: Enjoy a dedicated Kids Zone with games, inflatables, and hands-on fun hosted by community partners — including face painters and family-friendly entertainment throughout the day.

Savor the flavors of Garland at Día de los Muertos with a variety of local food vendors and food trucks serving delicious bites, traditional dishes, and festival favorites throughout Downtown Garland.

Celebrate Hispanic culture through the Día de los Muertos Juried Art Exhibit at the Granville Arts Center, featuring 2D and 3D works that capture the vibrant imagery, emotion, and spirit of this beloved tradition. All entries embody the color and creativity of Día de los Muertos, honoring life, family, and remembrance. The exhibit will be on display through November 9.

Cruise through culture at the Lowrider Car Show with Dallas Lowriders CC, featuring custom classics and colorful rides on display throughout Downtown Garland during the Día de los Muertos festival.

Capture the moment at Garland’s Día de los Muertos festival with life-size photo ops throughout Downtown Garland — including the vibrant Garland Letters , colorful Papel Picado, a cheerful Sugar Skull, and a grand Life-Size Altar backdrop perfect for commemorating the day.

Explore the vibrant Mercado at Día de los Muertos Garland, featuring local artisans and cultural exhibitors inside The Atrium and throughout Downtown Garland. Shop traditional art, handmade crafts, and Día de los Muertos–inspired goods that celebrate culture and creativity.

Students from Garland ISD and ILTexas showcase their Día de los Muertos–inspired artwork at the Granville Arts Center, celebrating themes of family, community, and remembrance. Pieces will be on display October 24–November 9, with winners announced during the festival on November 1.
