Downtown Garland has a diverse musical experience that will go great with your carefree summer vibe. Join us every Friday evening through September for one of the best concert series of the summer!

The concert series moves to the Plaza Theatre through the end of September!

Tim Phillips

Tim has been involved in performing live music for over 40 years.

He performs in various venues in the North and East Texas area performing a variety of styles including 70s/80s/90s soft rock, Americana, Country and more.

A longtime resident of Lewisville and Denton, Tim now resides in Longview with his wife Kim.

Dunashay Thomas

University of North Texas grad, Dunashay Thomas is originally from Tyler, TX. Just like his name, his musical style is quite unique, using a blend of smooth, soulful, modern sounds with a nostalgic essence.

Blueside

The Blueside is a duo from the Dallas/Fort Worth area consisting of Christian Sly (guitar/vocals) & James Bownds (percussion/vocals) performing various genres from the last 40+ years. JB and Sly met 20 years ago performing and writing for Small Guy Music where their song work earned an Emmy and numerous Telly awards. The company later transitioned into a touring act for our US Military and allies doing over a dozen concert tours to bases in more than 20 countries in the last decade.

Kelsi Kee

Kelsi Kee is one of D/FW's most exciting singers. Often compared to Janis Joplin, or Bonnie Raitt, her performances are sure to thrill with high energy vocals, astonishing range, perfect pitch, and an ability to cover some classics with a distinctive new voice. Kelsi is frequently accompanied by local acoustic guitar musician Stephen Goodson.


Enjoy the eclectic sound of The Texas Gypsies at the doorstep of Garland's City Hall. We dare you to keep your feet still when while you listine to original and classic Vintage Swing, jazz, and the authentic sound of the 1920s Great Gatsby era and 40's Big Band crooner music.

Robert Miller

A solo artist and professional player, live and in the studio, Robert Miller is a songwriter of all styles. Originally from the Dallas area, he was raised on bluegrass, classic rock, and the blues. He quickly took up all music styles, from rock, jazz, country, R&B, metal, and gospel. His music experience covers Top 40 party and dancehall house bands, broadway stages, and touring with artists like Jana Kramer, Love & Theft, and Dan Smalley.

Robert resides in Nashville, TN, where he specializes in remote and studio tracking and live performances across multiple instruments. He is also the host of the podcast @gearandbeerpodcast.

Rob Miller's first EP will be released June 1, 2022.

Ellie Meyer

Ellie Meyer is no stranger to the music scene, with vocals and song lyrics that make you yearn for more. Life experiences and inspirations are the basis of Ellie's songs, making them relatable to everyone. Each piece comes from the heart creating a feel-good vibe that all audiences crave.

Ellie is a three-time winner of the UNT Kerrville Songwriting Competition and a Top 10 Finalist in the SongDoor World Wide Songwriting Competition.

Chaz Marie

Anybody who has ever seen Chaz Marie live knows she’s the real deal. Her voice is a fusion of her musical influences in country, blues, R&B and rock and roll. Not only does she deliver a powerhouse vocal performance, she is an Entertainer at heart. She will have you grooving, moving and even laughing in the same song. Born in Mississippi, raised in Texas, she comes from a very musical family and no doubt, acquired her pipes by belting it out in church every Sunday.

Quinten Hope

Quinten studied at the legendary University of North Texas School of Music, which led to his first CD (Aspects of the Soul). While at the School of Music, Quinten performed with the famous UNT Lab Band and wrote compositions that are still performed today. It was Quinten's second CD (Start of a New Day) that led to a friendship with Rock-N-Roll Hall-of-Famer and Grammy winner Will Lee, along with Dan Wojciechowski and Bradley Knight. All three heavy hitters returned to record Quinten's critically acclaimed third CD (Reunion), which is his most personal to date.

Based out of Dallas, TX, "Jason Elmore & Hoodoo Witch" is an original high-energy trio that blends hard-hitting rock, jump/swing blues, vintage soul/r&b, and traces of 60's country. Darren Wise

Darren Wise is a Dallas-based guitarist and is currently the music director for the Drew Pearson Live television show on ABC. This sports and entertainment primetime NFL pregame show is based on the late night talk show format with a live on-set band led by Wise.

Plaza Theatre

A lifelong Texan, Buddy Whittington 'entered the arena' on December 28, 1956, in Fort Worth, and became enamored of the electric guitar like countless kids of his vintage shortly thereafter who were mesmerized.

Buddy's self-titled solo CD appeared in 2007, and has garnered very favorable reviews and considerable airplay. The CD, recorded at Hurricane Sound in Garland, Texas producer Mike Gage, features performances by Gage, longtime bassist Wayne Six, co-guitarist Michael 'Mouse' Mayes. This configuration makes up the core of the current working band.

With their skinny ties, pork pie hats, Gretsch guitars, slappin standup bass, and retro rocking drums, The Vinyl Stripes perform those great Rockabilly, Rock and Roll, and Surf classics. Sun Records hits from Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Jerry Lee. Rockers by Gene Vincent, The Beatles, Eddie Cochran, Buddy Holly, Surf music-Dick Dale, Ventures, and many other great artists of that era! The Vinyl Stripes also have many new original songs that even sound like they were from those long-ago rocking days that you will love!
