Criteria for Submitting an Event

We appreciate your interest in promoting an event on the Visit Garland events calendar. The primary target audiences for the VisitGarlandTX.com Event Calendar are individuals or groups, both domestic and international, planning to visit Garland, Texas.

Potential visitors are seeking unique experiences that provide an added incentive to visit the area or are searching for activities once they have arrived. We are happy to share your events with visitors; however, please note that this calendar focuses on visitor-friendly activities.

Event Listing Guidelines:

1. Location: Events must take place in Garland, TX.
2. Accessibility: All events must be open to the general public, not just organization members or pass holders.
3. Event Type: The calendar is dedicated to events only. Acceptable events include:
   • Festivals
   • Cultural and heritage events
   • Sporting events
   • Traveling or temporary exhibitions or shows
   • Community, professional, and college/university-level performances
4. Online Presence: Events must appear on the organization's website or Facebook page before submission. Please provide the URL to the event listing.
5. Specific Date/Time: Events must have a specific date and time.
6. Submission Deadline: All entries should be submitted at least ten days before the event date.
7. Recurring Events:
   • All recurring entries must have an end date. If you do not enter an end date, one will be added during the approval process.
   • All recurring events must end in the current calendar year. If your event extends beyond that date, you can submit a second listing with a beginning and end date in the new year.
8. Complete Form: The entire submission form should be filled out, including event descriptions and contact information.
9. Exclusions: The following will not be considered for the Event Calendar:
   • Auditions
   • K-8 school performances
   • Church services
   • Political fundraisers
   • Camps

Note: Exceptions to these guidelines may be made at the discretion of the Visit Garland staff.

Additional Information:

• Events listed on the calendar may be mentioned on VisitGarlandTX's social channels, but this is not guaranteed. When submitting your event, include images with this in mind. Horizontal, square, and pictures without text overlay work best.
• Events are not automatically added to the calendar once you click "submit" at the bottom of the form. Events first go through an approval process to verify that they contain all necessary information and meet the above criteria.
