So here’s the dill: Pickle Party is popping up in Downtown Garland Square from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, bringing a tangy celebration ahead of National Cucumber Day.

Guests can shop pickle-themed goods, enjoy pickle-themed activities, and spot a strolling stilt walker while taking part in this fun-filled ode to everyone’s favorite crunchy snack!

Pickle University, brought to you by The Gardens at Small Meadow, is officially SOLD OUT! Guests who reserved a spot will learn the basics of pickle-making, preservation, and canning techniques during the hands-on classes.

In between classes at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., enjoy FREE live music from Mountain Natives from 5:30 to 7 p.m. as part of the evening’s festivities!

Live music by Mountain Natives

5:30-7 p.m.

Mountain Natives are a DFW-based duo, by way of New Mexico. Overcoming cancer has given Philip Pappas and his wife, Loren, the reason to start the band Mountain Natives. These two love birds met at an open mic and decided there was no plan B and have been creating music and sharing their story ever since. Soon after, Philip discovered he had skin cancer. He's cancer-free now, and they started the band Mountain Natives as a declaration that they are “native” to overcoming “mountain-sized” obstacles, be it cancer, depression, whatever the mountain might be, you can throw it into the sea. They hope to encourage others with their story and music. The sound is reminiscent of a mashup of The Civil Wars and Sonny and Cher.
