Fall Fest & Guzzler 0.5K Run

Our Pick
Date: Oct 03, 2026

Break out the bell-bottoms and get ready to boogie! Fall Fest & Garland Guzzler 0.5K returns to Downtown Garland Square with a full day of ’70s-inspired music, roller derby, activities, and fall fun.

This year’s celebration brings disco fever to Downtown Garland with live music from Le Freak, a DJ spinning vinyl beside the roller derby rink, and the return of the Garland Guzzler 0.5K. Come dressed in your best ’70s look—or travel to a galaxy far, far away with a Star Wars-inspired costume.

Guzzler Run 0.5K

Get Ready, former athletes and couch enthusiasts!

Lace up your running—or walking—shoes and prepare to conquer 0.5 kilometers of glory! Now in its ninth year, the Garland Guzzler 0.5K is a physically undemanding but mentally strenuous race around Downtown Garland Square.

Whether you participate or cheer from the sidelines, stick around after the race for live music, games, activities, food, and craft brews. Costumes are encouraged, so come dressed in your best ’70s or sci-fi-inspired look!

Registered runners ages 21 and older can enjoy a complimentary lager from Intrinsic Smokehouse & Brewery, while supplies last.

Live Music

Get ready to dance as Le Freak brings the ultimate disco party to Downtown Garland Square. Known as “The Greatest Disco Band in the World,” the band delivers a high-energy show packed with classic ’70s grooves and dance hits from beyond the disco era. Powerhouse vocals, live musicianship and nonstop audience interaction will keep the celebration moving and the crowd on its feet throughout the evening.

Disco Derby

Roller derby takes over the Square! Assassination City Roller Derby will bring the action to a temporary roller derby rink in Downtown Garland. A DJ spinning vinyl records beside the rink will add the perfect soundtrack to this fast-paced Disco Derby experience.

A ’70s SCI-FI COSTUME PRE-PARTY

Celebrating a far, far away galaxy of nostalgia.

The original Star Wars debuted in 1977, making it a natural fit for this year’s ’70s theme. Ahead of the movie’s 50th anniversary in 2027, guests are encouraged to join the pre-party by wearing their favorite Star Wars-inspired costumes.

Featured activities include:

  • Lightsaber Academy
  • Millennium Falcon Bounce House
  • Imperial AT Obstacle Course

Downtown Garland Fall Crawl

Start the festivities with the returning Downtown Garland Fall Crawl, presented by the Downtown Development Office. This popular craft beer tasting trail invites participants to explore Downtown Garland businesses while sampling a selection of craft beers and collecting event keepsakes.

Fall Crawl registration, pricing, tasting information and participating business details will be announced soon.

Must be 21+ to participate.
