Meet the Artists

Susie Cortez

Susie Cortez is a Salvadoran-born fine artist based in Dallas and Houston whose passion for art began in childhood as a way to stay connected with family. With over 20 years of classical training under artist Larry Gluck at Mission: Renaissance, her work focuses on capturing beauty in people, places, and everyday moments, and has been featured in exhibitions, public art projects, and private collections.

Proenka Roque

Proenka Roque is a creative artist and muralist with years of experience in portraiture, large-scale murals, and mixed media art. Her work is driven by a passion for capturing emotion and telling stories through visual expression, while transforming spaces into vibrant works of art the community can connect with and enjoy.

Janie McGuffee Tillison

Janie McGuffee Tillison is a freelance artist and art educator with over a decade of experience creating custom artwork for businesses and individual clients. Her work has been featured in the Deep Ellum Call to Artists banner project, contributing to public art initiatives that celebrate community and creativity. In addition to her professional practice, Janie teaches middle school art in Mesquite ISD, where she inspires young artists while sharing her expertise in studio arts and art education.

Kim Stanley Bonar

Kim Stanley Bonar, NWS, SWS, TWS is an award-winning watercolor artist known for her realistic style infused with strong abstract design. Her work explores figures, florals, and still life, often presented in a larger-than-life perspective that offers an intimate and dynamic view of everyday subjects. A signature member of the National, Southwestern, and Texas Watercolor Societies and a past president of the Southwestern Watercolor Society, Kim’s paintings have been featured in numerous national exhibitions, publications, and public and private collections.

Jeremie Fletcher Bourcy

Jeremie Fletcher Bourcy is a North Texas–based graphic designer, illustrator, and mixed media artist whose work spans painting, relief prints, wood burning, animation, and mural projects. She has exhibited in local galleries and completed public art installations, including dumpster beautification murals for the City of Garland and large-scale community murals across the Dallas area. Jeremie is also the author and illustrator of the children’s book Truck Boy and performs as a musician in two bands, blending her creativity across both visual art and music.

Ashley Olvera

Ashley Olvera is an Illustrator and graphic designer in the DFW area. Her main focus of work is in broadcast design, with past jobs creating digital installation murals for interactive play areas in dental offices, churches, and classrooms. You can catch her most of the time sketching at zoos and enjoying the scenery.
